To judge whether a wireless link will work, you need more than a single signal strength number. The CWNA exam tests five related metrics: received signal strength, noise floor, signal-to-noise ratio, receive sensitivity and fade margin. Together they tell you whether a client can decode frames reliably and at what data rate.
