A blue/green deployment runs two complete versions of an application side by side. Blue is the live version receiving traffic; green is the new version, fully started and tested but not yet serving users. When you are satisfied with green, you switch all traffic to it at once. If something goes wrong, you switch back just as quickly. Kubernetes has no special object for this; you build it from two Deployments and one Service.
