A disaster recovery plan (DRP) describes how the organization restores IT systems, data and infrastructure after a disruption, in time to meet the recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) set in the business impact analysis (BIA). It is usually owned by IT and supports the business continuity plan (BCP). Where the BCP asks 'how does the business keep working?', the DRP asks 'how do we get the technology back, in the right order, with the right data?'.
