IPv6 has no broadcast. Instead it uses three kinds of delivery: unicast (one interface), multicast (a group of interfaces) and anycast (the nearest of several interfaces sharing an address). Within unicast, several address types have different scopes, meaning how far they are valid. A single interface normally has more than one IPv6 address at the same time, so you must recognize each type by its first hex digits.
