An endpoint is any device at the edge of the network that sends or receives data for users or applications, as opposed to infrastructure devices like switches, routers and access points that move data between endpoints. Support technicians spend much of their time helping endpoints connect, so it helps to know how each type typically joins the network and what problems are common.
