LISP (Locator/ID Separation Protocol) addresses a basic limitation of IP: an IP address says both who a device is and where it is. When a device moves, its address has to change, and every prefix that must be reachable ends up in routing tables across the network. LISP separates those two roles into two address spaces and adds a mapping system between them. It is the control plane of Cisco SD-Access, so ENCOR expects you to know its components.
