Once you know the address types, you need to know how an interface actually gets its IPv6 address. There are three main ways the CCNA tests: configure it statically, let the device build the interface ID with EUI-64 (extended unique identifier, 64-bit), or let hosts configure themselves with SLAAC (stateless address autoconfiguration) from router advertisements. DHCPv6 (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6), stateful or stateless, is a fourth option you should recognize.
