Reliability is the ability of a system to recover from failures and continue to function. In the cloud, reliability comes from two places: the provider's global scale and the way you design your solution. Azure runs datacenters in many regions around the world, and many regions contain several availability zones, each with independent power, cooling and networking. If you spread a workload across zones or regions, a failure in one place does not have to take your application down. The Microsoft Azure Fundamentals exam (AZ-900) lists reliability and predictability as core benefits of the cloud, alongside high availability and scalability.
