Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security is a host-based stateful firewall on every Windows Server. It filters inbound and outbound traffic per server, which limits lateral movement even inside a trusted network. It also hosts connection security rules, which use IPsec to authenticate and optionally encrypt traffic between computers.
