Consolidated billing is a built-in feature of AWS Organizations. The management account, historically called the payer account, receives one bill for all member accounts and pays it, while each account's charges remain visible separately. There is no extra charge for it, and it brings both administrative benefits, such as one payment method and one invoice, and financial benefits, which are what the exam focuses on. Every organization has consolidated billing, whether it uses only billing features or all features, such as service control policies (SCPs).
