Security in AWS is a shared job. The AWS shared responsibility model spells out which parts AWS takes care of and which parts remain yours. It is one of the most tested ideas on the Cloud Practitioner exam, and almost every security question becomes easier once you have it straight. The short version AWS uses is that AWS is responsible for security of the cloud, and the customer is responsible for security in the cloud.
