Regulated organizations must prove that their systems meet standards such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for card payments, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) for United States health data, or ISO/IEC 27001 for information security management. In the cloud, compliance is shared just like security: AWS proves its infrastructure meets these standards, and you prove your own workloads do. Several AWS services help with each side, and the exam tests which one fits which need.
