Generative AI on Azure starts with choosing a model. The Azure AI Foundry model catalog lists models from OpenAI (sold as Azure OpenAI), Microsoft and other providers such as Meta, Mistral and Cohere. OpenAI models and some others are deployed into your Azure OpenAI or Foundry resource; many third-party models are offered as serverless APIs billed per token, and some can be deployed to managed compute that you pay for by the hour. Each catalog entry has a model card describing its purpose, context length, supported regions and deployment options.
