Installing an operating system has three big decisions: how the computer will boot the installer, what kind of installation you will perform, and how the disk will be partitioned. The A+ exam describes a situation, such as fifty new laptops, a failing Windows install or a new 4 TB disk, and asks which method fits. Getting these choices right saves hours and protects the user's data.
