The motherboard is the main circuit board that connects every part of a PC: the CPU (central processing unit), memory, storage, expansion cards, power supply and front-panel controls. Choosing and installing one means matching three things: its size to the case, its socket to the CPU, and its slots and connectors to the parts you plan to use. Get any one of those wrong and the build either will not fit, will not boot or will not do what the customer needs.
